Horseradish root besides being used as an addition to dishes and salad, it can also be used as a medicine. Here are some examples of how to make medicines from horseradish root, at home.
For sinuses – Make a tea from grated horseradish, cover your head with a cloth and inhale from the steam five to ten minutes (it is best to do it before bedtime).
Tea for cleaning lungs – Use 10grams of grated horseradish and pour it with 200 ml boiled water. Drink two to three times a day, in small doses.
Against asthma, fatigue and hard breathing – 200ml of apple cider vinegar is boiled with four tablespoons of grated horseradish. When it softens drain it and add four tablespoons of honey. Boil until it thickens, then let it cool down. Drink in the morning and in the evening. This medication relieves the symptoms of asthmatics.
Those who have difficulty with breathing and cough should take a spoonful of grated root mixed with a spoon of honey each morning on an empty stomach. This type of therapy should last for one month.
Against rheumatism – a root from the horseradish is grated and moistened with a mixture of water and vinegar, after pour boiled milk in the mixture. When the milk is clotted, the produced whey is removed. From this kind of mixture, we drink one to two cups a day.
Horseradish wine against stomach ulcer – popular in Chinese traditional medicine. 50g of root horseradish is kept for seven days in a bottle of quality white wine. Drink 100ml of this potion, twice a day before eating.
Against wounds, pains, swelling – grated root mixed with alcohol is left to stand for two weeks in the dark. This tincture is useful for festering wounds, pain and swelling. Also be careful because it is very strong for fresh open wounds.
